Story
Anyssa got into design at the technical course in Graphic Design at ETEC Carlos de Campos. She continued her studies by graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from SENAC University in 2011. While still studying, she worked in various design areas: print, editorial, branding, motion graphics, until she established herself in web interface design.
Discovered WordPress in 2008 when looking for a platform to publish her portfolio online (the first version of this site!). Since then, she became interested in the platform’s ease of use and the openness of the local community, and started using WordPress professionally.
In 2009, she co-founded Studio Haste, where for 13 years, Anyssa consolidated her expertise in web development, working on various WordPress development projects. From corporate websites, e-commerce platforms, experimental projects, SaaS, to high-traffic portals. Anyssa coordinated and contributed to the development of custom plugins and themes for both national and international companies, gaining visibility in the Brazilian WordPress market.
In these projects, Anyssa acted as a designer and front-end developer, applying her knowledge to conceptualize and bring to life usable, accessible, and responsive interfaces. With the studio’s growth and the expanding team, Anyssa began coordinating the team of designers and developers, managing projects, and consistently promoting a user-centered design culture.
Alongside her work at Studio Haste, Anyssa served as a teacher in training courses for designers at institutions such as SENAC, Fundação Bradesco, and in independent courses.
She dedicated herself to the WordPress Brazil community as an organizer of Meetups and WordCamp São Paulo from 2014 to 2020, moderating forums, and contributing as a Translation Editor in the official translation of the CMS into Brazilian Portuguese. Shared content as a speaker at WordCamps in São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Fortaleza, Meetup Curitiba, Meetup Granada (Spain), Campus Party Brasil, PHP Community Summit, and other events.
In 2015, Anyssa received the first edition of the Kim Parsell Scholarship from the WordPress Foundation, highlighting her efforts to promote the inclusion of women and other underrepresented groups in the WordPress community in São Paulo.
Attended WordCamp Europe in 2019 in Berlin, including the Contributor Day event, where she collaborated with the Design team. In 2020, she was a speaker at WordCamp Europe, where she spoke about Prototyping WordPress Projects. She was also a guest on podcasts such as Women in WP and Do the Woo.
In 2020, she was invited by Doméstika to develop a WordPress course for the platform. Today, the course is listed among the best-selling, guiding more than 6,600 students in the process of building custom WordPress sites.
Anyssa is currently a Senior UX Designer at NextPress, the developer of the WP Ultimo plugin for WordPress.
